The
Speech and Language Program is a theme-based, communication enriched

Creepy Crawlies, Robert Munsch books and Cookies!
Camp
Inukshuk is a wonderful opportunity for children entering kindergarten,
especially those who have not previously been exposed to a preschool
environment. It teaches the following skills in a small group
setting:
- Speech:
individual and group therapy
- Language:
vocabulary and grammar
- Cognition:
letters, numbers and early literacy
- Social:
practice social interaction skills
- Emotional:
improve self confidence
- Physical:
fine and gross motor skills
Parents
and campers attend a screening session in June with the Speech-Language
Pathologist and Communicative Disorders Assistant. During this
session, therapy goals specific to each child's individual needs
will be developed. If your child is under the care of another
Speech-Language Pathologist, we will be pleased to work with that
therapist to provide continuity of your child's goals. These goals
will be practiced daily in a supportive environment through one-on-one
therapy and small group activities.
Camp
Inukshuk is more than just a place to practice speech and language
skills. It also provides the opportunity for your child to:
- Build
friendships
- Gain
self confidence
- Discover
new talents
- Be
themselves
